BRIEF HISTORY OF THE SJUSA

The Sunni Jamiatul Ulama of South Africa was established in 1978 by a modest number of Ulama with the primary objective of convening a Theological body that would be able to address the various social, welfare, educational and spiritual needs of the community. Secondarily to preserve and to promote the pristine teachings of the Ahle Sunnah wal Jamaah and the spiritually uplifting practices associated with the Sunni fraternity.

Founded by passion, sincerity and dedication, it is only with the Grace of Allah, the compassionate gaze of His Habeeb Muhammad Mustafa (peace and salutations be upon him), and the luminosity of the Aulia-e-Kaamileen that the SJUSA has managed to overcome the initial challenges of meager resources to prevail as an internationally recognised Ulama body of great substance and repute.

The aforementioned further testifies to the astonishing fact that our services have been offered at no cost (gratis) to the community from establishment to the present time. The SJUSA was deemed worthy of benediction from glorious international ambassadors of Islam such as the likes of:

Hazrat Moulana Shah Ahmed Noorani Siddiqui

Hazrat Allamah Professor Shah Fareedul Haq

Hazrat Allamah Sayyid Turabul Haq Shah

Hazrat Allamah Sayyid Hasseenudin Shah

Hazrat Allamah Moulana Khushtar Qadri Razvi

(May Allah grant the deceased from amongst them Jannah)

Throughout the years, the helm of the SJUSA had been steered by local stalwarts comprising both erudite Islamic scholars and Spiritual Guides such as the likes of:

Marhoom Dr. Moulana Abbas Khan Ashrafi

Marhoom Moulana Abdus Sattar

Marhoom Moulana Feisal Khan Ashrafi

Marhoom Hazrat Shah Muhammad Saeed Soofie

Marhoom Hazrat Moeen Kazi Chishtee Habeebi

(May Allah shower His choicest Mercy and Blessings upon them)
